If you enjoy the centuries old tradition of displaying a wreath on your door throughout the Christmas period, you may find yourself facing a difficult choice. While wreaths were once simple circles of evergreen, large numbers of beautiful artificial Christmas wreaths are now available, and it can be very difficult to choose! This list of some of the major styles of Christmas wreath should help; since they’ll hang outside your door they can set the tone of your Christmas celebration.

Simple Evergreen Wreaths. Simple elegant, undecorated circles of fresh evergreens are ideal for those in touch with nature. The wreaths will biodegrade, but you’ll have to buy a new one next year.

Red Berry Wreaths. Bright circles of glossy red berries are ideal for cheerful homes where a warm, no nonsense welcome awaits. This style of artificial wreath can be used from fall to Christmas and even after, making it a bright and very economical choice.

Golden glitter wreaths. Glittering bands of golden flowers and fruit with winding golden ribbons are ideal for those who like to splurge at Christmas time. Beautiful on a dark wooden door, these Christmas Wreaths bring a note of opulence to their surroundings and recall the gift of the three wise men, not just myrrh and frankincense, but gold.

Frosted Fruit. The ideal Christmas Wreath for a modern home, frosted fruits glow with delicate pastel colors. Not your ordinary wreath, but ideal this year and next.

Traditional Tartan. The bright red of Royal Stewart tartan is often seen around Christmas time. If you’ve Scottish blood then a wreath trimmed with tartan ribbon is the ideal thing for you!

Festive and Floral. Although the beautiful red heads of poinsettias aren’t flowers at all, they have come to be associated with Christmas. For the best of festive spirit, choose a wreath made from bright red poinsettias, pine cones and Christmas ornaments.

Winter White. The image of modern sophistication is the all white Christmas Wreath. Made from white poinsettias, amaryllis or even creamy magnolias white wreath carries an aura of grandeur and will enhance any home.

No matter which Christmas Wreath you choose don’t forget to  decorate the tree and put out the stockings, and may your household be filled with brightness and joy this Christmas.
